RF Surveys
On-site radiofrequency exposure surveys can include rooftop, in building and ground-level evaluations from cellular, PCS, WiFi, WiMax, FM, 5G or any other broadband or narrowband RF source. In complex RF environments with multiple sources, RF surveys serve to identify public and occupational areas, provide the basis for an RF site safety plan and/or serve as an audit of existing signs and barriers. A comprehensive RF survey provides a detailed map with the results displayed in an easy to review format, photo documentation, instrumentation utilized with calibration certificates, as well as recommendations of steps necessary to achieve FCC compliance as appropriate for sites. All reports are signed by a board-certified health physicist or Professional engineer.
RF Compliance Reports
RF compliance reports are known by a number of names including RF compliance reports, Non Ionizing Electromagnetic Radiation (NIER) reports, and Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) evaluations. The reports are designed to comply with FCC OET65 requirements and utilize site specific data to perform theoretical analysis of exposures at ground level, rooftop and adjacent building locations. Theoretical calculations from all RF emitters are conducted using Excel™ spreadsheets, Roofview™ software and IXUS EME compliance software as needed for the exposure environment. FCC compliance is sometimes performed through on-site surveys for complex sites and the surveys are coordinated with the RF emitter hosts to ensure a 100% worst case measurement environment.
RF Expert Witness & Testimony
Public concern regarding RF exposure and potential health effects has not waned over the years. In fact, with the advent of 5G those concerns have significantly increased. As the background of the key team members can attest, all principal members of Thatcher Consulting LLC have decades of experience as independent experts in a wide variety of public settings ranging from community meetings to council or legislative hearings. The team is particularly adept at explaining technical concepts in an easy to understand and relatable manner.
RF Safety Training & RF Safety Programs
As of June 2020 the FCC and OSHA now require all business owners establish and maintain an RF safety program. Such a program consists of an RF Safety Plan, relevant RF safety procedures as well as RF Safety and Awareness Training for all impacted employees. Thatcher Consulting LLC has worked with a number of companies in developing their RF safety program from the ground up. This includes RF source identification and evaluation, the plan and procedures as well as the training. Thatcher Consulting LLC customizes and highly recommends an in person, hands on initial training to ensure the staff and employees truly understand all aspects of RF safety. During the COVID-19 pandemic Thatcher Consulting LLC has modified the on site training in a small group on line format to ensure the audience sees both the instructor and the presentation at the same time to allow for an interactive and enhanced learning experience.
